Malcolm Bruce, Jack’s Son, To Release Acoustic Cream Tribute LP

Malcolm Bruce, son of the late great Cream bassist Jack Bruce, walks a fine line between capitalizing on his father’s fame and being his own man. It’s not unusual for members of famous people’s families to have such a quandary. Take Deborah Bonham, sister of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who has her own solo musical career. Or Gary Lewis of the sixties group Gary Lewis And The Playboys? His dad was the well-known comedian Jerry Lewis.Bruce finds himself at a kind of crossroads here. Next month, he and some other well-known musicians, including late Cream drummer Ginger Baker, guitarist Joe Bonamassa and singer Paul Rodgers, are releasing an acoustic tribute to, whom else, Cream, called “Heavenly Cream” on Quarto Valley Records. The collection contains 15 Cream classics, including “Sunshine Of Your Love,” “White Room” and “Crossroads.”
